New Contracts Signal Completion Of BlueSky Building

Aberdeen-based BlueSky Business Space, a Chess Group plc company, has secured close to £2 million worth of new business within the last six months.

The company is a provider of flexible, serviced office accommodation in the North-east with Business Centres located in Westhill and Altens.

The new contracts include a long term deal with Total for the lease of the entire Southpoint Building in Altens.

Anna Kwiatkowska, BlueSky business centre supervisor, said: "The relationship between Total and BlueSky began as a nine month commitment for temporary project space in 2007. Over the years the company’s needs have changed dramatically and I hope that we will continue to provide valuable solutions to their changing office accommodation needs in the future."

The additional business secured by BlueSky is composed of new contracts for office space at the company’s Westpoint Business Centre in Westhill, Aberdeen. New tenants include Dale Power Solutions, StormGeo, Mintra Training Portal, TCO AS, Current2Current and STAG Geological Services.

Ms Kwiatkowska continued: "With occupancy on the completed floors running at 90% we awarded the final phase of the £200,000 fit-out of the top floor to interiors fit-out specialists Modul8. The project was completed in mid-September and over 50% of the space has now been let.

"Uncertainty in the market place, created by the current economic climate, has resulted in a significant increase in the number of enquiries at the centre as companies try to take advantage of the flexible nature of serviced offices."

With both centres close to capacity, BlueSky is looking to expand its portfolio across Scotland with a number of opportunities currently being considered.

BlueSky Business Centres are designed to cater for the needs of a wide range of businesses, from a single-person office to open plan space which can cater for up to 100 people.
