TAYplan Major Consultation

Construction News Image
A Major consultation that will help shape the future of land use in four local authority areas gets underway later this month.

Feedback from the public, politicians, planners, academics, business, young people and communities will be gathered on the TAYplan main issues report.

The strategy, which will replace existing council structure plans when it is approved by Scottish Ministers, will set out a framework for growth in the Dundee City region.

Cllr Will Dawson, who chairs the TAYplan joint committee said: "I am encouraging everyone with an interest to get involved and give us their views on what they think the key issues are and on the strategic options for where much of the new development should be.

"We have tried to make this as easy as possible with a wide range of ways of making your views known to us."

The 12 week consultation period, which starts on Monday April 12 will include a series of events for local councillors, community councils and the public. An online questionnaire has been posted on the TAYplan portal www.tayplan-sdpa-consult.limehouse.co.uk/portal and information events will be held in 11 settlements throughout the TAYplan area.

Once responses have been read and collated TAYplan will have a clearer and more inclusive strategic plan for the development of the area.

TAYplan, the Strategic Development Planning Authority, was set up in 2008 to create a strategy for the location of major development in Dundee, Angus, Perth and Kinross and North/East Fife.
