Bailie McFadden said: "A school opening is always an exuberant and happy occasion for everyone involved. I am delighted to take part in the celebrations for the new Quarry Brae Primary and Parkhead Community Nursery.

“I am sure that everyone in the local community is very proud of the new facilities, classrooms and specialist rooms which will enhance the provision of education for the children here today and in the future."

The capacity of Quarry Brae Primary School is 363 and the current school roll is 239. The school has 11 classrooms, two general purposes rooms, a media and library suite and a nurture class. The gym hall, assembly/dining hall and all weather pitch are shared by both the primary and nursery.
