Aberdeen-based Knight Property Group has announced plans to invest £3million in a speculative industrial unit at Kirkhill Commercial Park, Dyce, Aberdeen.
Construction of the two storey unit, which comprises 4,822 square feet of office space, 10,000sq ft of workshops and 12,939sq ft of yard space, is expected to be complete in November of this year.
Ryden and Graham & Sibbald are the joint marketing agents in respect of the unit.
Howard Crawshaw director of Knight Property Group said: “As one of the few developers to have continued to develop on a speculative basis throughout the challenging economic conditions, we have seen that there is a growing market for high quality industrial property in the Aberdeen area.”
Adjacent occupiers at the development include Fugro Improv, Bristow Helicopters, Coates Offshore and Eurocopter UK. The Kirkhill unit is the company’s second speculative development of the year. The first, a similar sized unit at the Minto Commercial Park in Altens has been let prior to completion to the AVS Group.
Gordon Whyte, managing director, AVS Group said: “As part of the ongoing growth of our business in Aberdeen it is essential we have modern, fit-for–purpose office and workshop space to house our new custom build valve paint-shop facility.”
The letting to AVS Group was brokered on behalf of Knight Property Group by leasing agents Graham and Sibbald.
John McHardy chartered surveyor at Graham and Sibbald said: “The letting to the AVS Group brings the amount of occupiers at the park to six and the fact we have managed to secure a tenant prior to completion of Unit 3, is a further indication of demand for good quality office and industrial accommodation. We have one 2.32 acre site remaining at the park, which is suitable for either office or industrial development and we hope to secure a tenant for the site soon.”
Recognised as Scotland’s Developer of the Year in 2009, Knight Property Group was established in Aberdeen, Scotland in 1987 and provides a complete range of property investment and development services. The company has extensive experience in the design and build of new facilities and the refurbishment and upgrading of existing properties.
