Crucial Solution For Conservatory Roof Problems

Construction News Image
As the massive snow issues currently sweeping across Scotland continue Clyde Windows and Construction have announced that over the past year they have expanded their Conservatory Repairs Division to cover a much wider area of Scotland.

They are now covering from the Central Belt right out to east and west coasts due to their great success from previous years dealing with conservatory roof leaks and conservatory roof problems. Over the past year they have been helping clients with severe issues replacing or repairing conservatory frames and roofs or replacing the polycarbonate glazing.

There has been a massive increase in insurance based claims from recent years particularly in relation to conservatories due to snow damage and the adverse conditions have been damaging them or indeed collapsing them completely.

Jack Gardiner head of repairs division states: “ We have been working closely with the main insurance companies, loss adjusters and insurance based repair contractors as they generally do not have the required and specific skills to carry out necessary snow or wind damage repairs as this is quite a unique area, also many conservatory companies do not carry out repairs to other firms conservatories the same applies to general roofing companies.

"We usually find that the main conservatory problems across Scotland come from roofs that have either been bought cheaply and are constructed with inferior materials or roofs - not fit for purpose. Some may have had their pitches altered at installation thus weakening the structural integrity of the roof, or not enough roof purlings installed. When any more than eight inches of snow rests on these roofs and then freezes or more snow is added, the roof simply buckles under the weighted pressure allowing water ingress in the conservatory. The roof itself collapses altogether leaving both the client and the insurer with a worst case scenario.

"Where Clyde Windows and Construction pride themselves is the speed and professionalism attending to client issues. They have an instant reporting back system to the insurers, allowing a speedier claim and customer care for the client. They are already suffering through no fault of their own so Clyde Windows and Construction rectifies this."
