Mactaggart & Mickel Contracts has continued its bumper year of new business with a further two wins to deliver its ‘one-stop-shop’ building solution, bringing the total value to date in 2010 to £7.25 million.
The company will fulfil a design and build contract, valued in excess of £2 million, for housing association Places for People at Stuart Square in Edinburgh’s East Craigs.
Construction is now underway on the block of 18 two and three bedroom flats which will provide much needed affordable housing in the area.
Work has also begun to complete 11 townhouses at Williamwood in Clarkston, East Renfrewshire. Appointed by Price Waterhouse Coopers Mactaggart & Mickel Contracts will deliver the final homes in the development of terraces and semi-detached properties and apartments.
Peter Shepherd, head of production for Mactaggart & Mickel Contracts, commented: “Our most recent contract wins demonstrate our capabilities in both the social housing and insolvency markets and we are very much looking forward to working with our partners to deliver two very different but equally successful developments.
“Whether we are involved in a project from the initial stages as at East Craigs or working in partnership towards a creative exit solution on an unfinished development, we pride ourselves on our commitment to exceptional quality standards. With Mactaggart & Mickel Group’s origins in contracting, our customers are accessing 85 years of award winning experience from a well-financed company they can trust.”
Mactaggart & Mickel Contracts services a range of markets from affordable housing and community buildings to private developments and retail units. The company caters to the needs of individual clients to deliver a wide scope of contracting services, covering both design and build and traditional based contracts throughout the central belt of Scotland.
