Falkirk Town Centre Gets A Sign

New pedestrian and visitor signage is being installed across Falkirk centre this month that aims to make directions clearer for everyone.

The signs will provide visitor and shopping information about the main retail sites within the town as well as additional visitor information about the town centre and other tourist attractions.

The design of the signs will allow users to find out where they are relative to other attractions and places of interest in the town centre and have been extensively planned and designed to maximise the amount of information that users will find useful.

Cllr Adrian Mahoney, Convener of Economic Strategy and Development said: "The new signs aim to help visitors and tourists get the most from their visit to the town centre and will be located in a number of high profile areas such as car parks and railway stations.

"Once completed, an area from Falkirk High and Falkirk Grahamston stations will be well signed posted making it more attractive and accessible with improved links to areas such as Central Retail Park as well as secondary retailing areas.

"Work will be starting shortly and will involve some excavation work prior to the signs being erected however this will cause minimal disruption to the town centre."

Navigator Signs Ltd of Glasgow have been appointed to carry out the work and have previous experience of installations in Edinburgh’s historic Grassmarket area as well as Hamilton and East Kilbride town centres.

The £170k project is part of the wider £2m Falkirk town centre regeneration project funded by the Scottish Government.
