A multi-million pound development of 33 homes for rent has been completed by Taylor Wimpey in Peebles.
Tenants have already moved into the completed development of two and three bedroom homes on Kittlegairy Road– with each property accommodating up to four people.
Workers on the project went the extra mile during the 60-week construction programme and were delighted to be able to complete each of the three phases of the development ahead of schedule
Taylor Wimpey were contracted for the project, their first multi-million pound development, by Eildon Housing Association.
Managing Director for Taylor Wimpey East Scotland, Ian Thomson, commented: "We're delighted to have completed our first project for Eildon Housing Association to deliver 33 high quality, new-build homes.
"This project maximises our extensive experience in the delivery of mixed communities and multi-tenure developments, and it's a testament to the expertise of the site-team that they've achieved such an impressive standard of workmanship first-time round that was well ahead of schedule during each phase of works.
"We've had enormously positive feedback from our colleagues at Eildon Housing on the quality of the homes, as well as the overall standard of our works and commitment to delivery, so it’s a proud day for the team as we officially handover the final few plots.
Chief Executive of Eildon Housing Association, Nile Istephan, confirmed: "We are very pleased with the quality of the houses produced for us by Taylor Wimpey. Despite a build programme, which endured some of the worst winter weather in recent years, we are delighted to take handover of these houses ahead of schedule.
"Eildon Housing Association were able to respond quickly to this opportunity and are thankful for the accelerated funding support from both the Scottish Government and Scottish Borders Council. These homes provide much needed affordable family housing for the Peebles area. Our tenants are now settling in well, and as works progress across the wider site, we look forward to taking our place as part of a vibrant mixed community."
