The second preferred location was Downie Place with East Murrayfield coming third.
A total of 586 people responded to the council housing consultation, which was 23% of the 2,500 questionnaires sent to local people and people on the housing waiting list for the area. People were given the choice of five location options, of various sizes, for up to six houses to be built in the village for older people and people with disabilities.
Local Councillors Alasdair MacPherson, Margaret Brisley and Violet Weir have considered the results of the public consultation and have agreed that two houses should be built at Manse Place and four at Downie Place.

They have also agreed that the parking issues on Downie Place will be addressed both before the development gets underway and after if any problems occur. There is also an opportunity for the front of the main shopping parade to be enhanced.
Local Councillors Alasdair MacPherson, Margaret Brisley and Violet Weir in a joint statement said: "This is a good example of the Council listening and taking on board the views of the community to deliver much needed social rented housing in the village. As the local councillors for the area we are agreed on the locations of the new houses for elderly and disabled tenants and look forward to seeing the homes take shape."
Stirling Council agreed to consult the community on where they feel the houses should be built. As part of the consultation residents and people on the housing waiting list were given the opportunity to express their views by filling in a questionnaire as well as coming along to the ‘Open Day’ to see the options and the house styles for themselves. At the ‘Open Day’ people had varying views and a number left specific comments and many asked questions about the proposals.
