Work on a £500,000 project to realign one of the major routes through Dundee Waterfront starts later this month.
The next phase in the multi million pound transformation of the city's Central Waterfront will see South Marketgait re-aligned at its junction with Commercial Street.
Starting on June 14, the work, which is fundamental to delivering the waterfront vision, will be completed in the autumn.
The city will be open for business as usual during this important and high profile stage of work.
Ken Guild, chair of the Dundee Waterfront Board said: "Dundee City Council, its partners and the contractor have put in a great deal of effort carefully planning the job to minimise disruption.
"But this crucial work will also need the co-operation and patience of drivers and local businesses and residents."
To ensure the safety of the public and workforce while construction is taking place South Marketgait will be closed to eastbound traffic at City Quay roundabout. Drivers travelling in this direction at this location will be diverted via the Inner Ring Road.
Vehicles seeking access to Commercial Street, Gellatly Street, Trades Lane and Dock Street will be encouraged to use Seagate.
Cllr Guild added: "The multi million pound transformation of Dundee Waterfront, funded by Dundee City Council, Scottish Enterprise and the Scottish Government will further reinvigorate the city as an ideal destination to live, work and visit.
"The project is one of the most notable and forward-thinking in Scotland today and although a long term scheme, already the landscape of the city is beginning to change and the renewed relationship with the river is evolving.
"It is one of the key reasons that the V&A decided to come to the city and the V&A @ Dundee is now an important element of the Waterfront Project."
