City Building Wins Gas Service Contract

City Building – Glasgow City Council’s arm’s-length construction company – has been appointed by North Glasgow Housing Association to a framework agreement providing domestic low emission gas central heating systems.

The framework agreement which is worth approximately £600,000 will see City Building’s Gas Safe-registered engineer’s fit approximately 200 new gas systems and a number of electric wet systems over the next three years.

City Building is one of Scotland’s largest construction companies and delivers training for 500 construction trade apprentices. At least one apprentice will be involved in the installation of each central heating system, getting vital on-the-job training from the company’s skilled engineers.

“City Building now provides gas services to a range of clients in the public and private sectors, demonstrating its ability to deliver services focused on the needs of customers.”

North Glasgow HA chief executive Robert Tamburrini said: “City Building are a first class contractor and we are delighted to develop our partnership with them. They provide a quality service at an attractive price whilst offering apprenticeship opportunities for young people."
