Multi Million Cash Injection For A737, A77 & A75

Key routes to ports in south west Scotland will be significantly improved thanks to a £50 million package of government funding

As part of this, work to progress the £28 million Dalry Bypass will get underway thanks to an initial £10 million investment. This new funding allows this scheme to progress through its preparatory stages into the construction phase subject to satisfactory completion of the statutory process.


The £21 million A77 Symington to Bogend Toll and the £25.6 million A75 Dunragit Bypass schemes will also be taken forward, with expected completion dates of 2014 and 2015 respectively, subject to the statutory process.

Transport Minister Keith Brown said: "Despite recent Westminster cuts to capital budgets, the Scottish Government and its expert officials in Transport Scotland have continued to work tirelessly to ensure that a range of vital projects are ready to progress when funding becomes available.

"We are committed to connecting Scotland’s cities with a high quality transport system that will generate economic growth and that is why we are also spending billions on the major upgrades of key lifeline routes for remote communities, business and tourism."
