AGM Group Chosen As One Of PSYBT’s Top 100

Specialist fit-out and maintenance company, AGM Group, has been chosen as one of PSYBT’s Top 100 companies.

The PSYBT report, which was published this week, celebrates the success of these companies and their impact on the Scottish economy.

Andrew Meek, Managing Director of AGM Group, commented: "As the sole fit-out and maintenance company to be chosen and also one of only two companies in Inverclyde, we are obviously delighted to be one of PSYBT's Top 100.

"We have worked really hard over the past eight years to build the business from a £5,000 PSYBT loan. We have faced many a challenge along the way, not least, working through a recession but our determination to manage the growth of the business in a steady and pragmatic way has resulted in a business which is still delivering and flourishing."

Mark Strudwick, CBE, Chief Executive, The Prince’s Scottish Youth Business Trust, said: "The impact of these businesses is clear. Within their industries, local communities and Scotland as a whole they have created over 2,200 jobs and have a combined turnover of some £157m. 71% have traded longer than 5 years, 47% have been trading for more than 10 years, and 28% have a combined turnover of between £1m and £5m.

"These businesses have overcome challenges both personally and professionally, set up businesses in the most difficult of times and location, embraced technology, invented revolutionary products and generated income and employment.

"The 100 businesses featured in this report are all exceptional; but we must not forget that they started off as micro-businesses without the funding and support in place to become sustainable businesses. PSYBT provided that support and, through our volunteer network, helped build the confidence and skills necessary for these businesses to flourish."
