Safety Award For Housebuilding Firm On Scottish Sites

A housebuilding company has received top safety awards for its work on housing schemes across Scotland.

The British Safety Council International Safety Merit Awards recognised Lovell in Scotland's commitment to ensuring the highest standards of workplace safety.

The awards were presented for three Scottish developments.

These were the Lovell development at Ladeside Avenue, Blackburn, West Lothian, where the company has built ten homes for West Lothian Council; a 19-home scheme for North Lanarkshire Council at Clarkston, Airdrie and a 58-home development for joint venture company PARC at Wauchope Square, Craigmillar.

Lovell's regional director Alan Taylor said: "The safety and wellbeing of our workforce and of those who live or work near our developments is of the utmost importance. These awards highlight our commitment to safety and the hard work of the Lovell team and our subcontractors."

Congratulating the award winners, Alex Botha of the British Safety Council said: "What the winners have demonstrated is that well-managed health and safety ensures the safety and wellbeing of their employees and contributes to business effectiveness and success."

Now in its 54th year the International Safety Awards scheme is open to organisations across all industries and seeks to promote high standards of health and safety management practice in order to prevent workplace injury and ill health.

Award winners have demonstrated to the judges their commitment to prevent workplace injuries and work-related ill-health.
