Kingdom competed against more than 500 other nominations and was presented with the two awards at the prestigious Green Apple Environmental Awards ceremony in Edinburgh Castle.
The housing association was awarded the Green Hero Awards and also received a Silver award for the Housing Innovation Showcase which was completed earlier this year, with 27 eco-friendly houses trialling new alternative methods of construction.
The £3 million development at Dunlin Drive in Dunfermline is a joint initiative by Kingdom Housing Association and Fife Council, who worked with other private and voluntary sector partners, to deliver the Housing Innovation Showcase.
An exhibition was held in May this year and was visited by over 2,500 construction and housing professionals eager to see the new homes which were built by ten different construction partnerships using modern methods of construction to build the energy-efficient houses.
Kingdom Chairperson, Charles Milne, said: "I am delighted that the hard work and commitment of all the partners and Kingdom’s staff, tenants and board members has been recognised by the Green Organisation. Kingdom is committed to using eco-friendly sustainable methods of construction and to battling fuel poverty."
The Green Hero award was given in recognition of the 'Kingdom House' in Pittenweem, which is Scotland’s first affordable social rented property to achieve the Passivhaus accreditation.
The project at Pittenweem, was built for Kingdom by Campion Homes using the Scotframe Supawall System and local Fife based consultants Oliver & Robb, SBA and Hardies were the designers of the project. The Scottish Government provided Kingdom with grant assistance to develop the project. Additional funding was obtained from Community Energy Scotland and the Renewable Construction Programme Fund.
