Investors Sought For Paisley Business Park

A marketing drive has begun to find new investors, developers and occupiers for a new business park in Paisley.

The Cart Corridor Joint Venture Company (CCJVCo) is currently working to drive uptake for the park in the Shortroods area, after planning permission in principle was granted for a significant mixed use scheme last year.

CCJVCo is a partnership between Renfrewshire Council, Scottish Enterprise and Royal Bank of Scotland. The Westpoint business park project is being delivered by Goodman and is now being marketed to a mix of businesses in time for the next phase of development.

In the last three years, four organisations have relocated to Westpoint Business Park, bringing around 170 jobs to the site.

Raynesway Construction, Songa Ship Management and Geodis Wilson are among the new occupants.

Niall McGilp, Regional Development Director at Goodman, said: "We have already secured long-term leases from several high profile organisations re-locating to Westpoint, including a government agency, and with 20,000 sq ft. of quality space remaining, we are confident more will follow.

"Looking to the next phase of development, we are now actively marketing a number of sites totalling 16 acres for a mix of retail, commercial, industrial and residential developments.

"By attracting the right mix of business, commercial operations and residential opportunities to Shortroods, we are confident the area will thrive and grow in the years ahead."

The business development plan is now entering its next phase.

About half of the 16 acres of land is available for mixed use development.

Planning permission was granted last year for a range of projects, including a supermarket, a hotel, a family pub/restaurant, fast food outlets and trade counters.
