Entries for industry body Homes for Scotland's annual Awards scheme have reached record levels this year, with 87 submissions received across 11 categories.
The awards, which seek to promote best practice and further increase standards in the new build sector, are focused around the 4 "P’s" of people, process, product and partnership, and address issues which directly impact the home building industry’s ability to deliver desperately needed housing.
The submissions are now being assessed by an independent judging panel, which is chaired by Bill Jamieson, commentator and ex-Executive Editor, The Scotsman who said: "With the start of the year heralding a degree of optimism within the home building sector, the encouraging volume of submissions to the Homes for Scotland Awards highlights that the industry is focused on overcoming barriers to recovery.
"I am therefore delighted to play a prominent part in this year’s judging process and look forward to seeing these efforts recognised on 17th May."
Winners will be announced at the Homes for Scotland Annual Lunch in Edinburgh on Friday 17 May at which those attending will also decide on which company deserves the accolade of Home Builder of the Year.
Over 660 guests are already confirmed to attend what remains the premier event in the Scottish home building industry calendar at which Deputy First Minister Nicola Sturgeon will be giving the keynote address.
HFS Chief Executive Philip Hogg said: "Our awards are unrivalled in terms of both credibility and in addressing the issues that matter to the industry’s many stakeholders. Representing our desire to keep driving the agenda forward, I am delighted that the support of members continues to grow year on year."
