Lochside Play Park in Forfar has re-opened following a £90,000 refurbishment.
The work was carried out over a three-week period and includes new play equipment for all ages. The play area has been redesigned as a jungle theme, based on the existing wooden play animals known by a number of local children; while the improvements include a new planet jungle unit for four to 12-year-olds and an ultra-zone for those aged six and above.
Two new springers - a dolphin and a camel - have been installed, along with a cone climber, a see-saw and a crocodile-shaped bench for younger children.
Rubber safety surfacing has been laid across the entire play area and a new swing seat, suitable for all children including those with disabilities, has been installed. Some work has also been carried out to the existing equipment in the park, with the two-bay swing and picnic tables being relocated to new locations on the site.
A few pieces of play equipment from Lochside will be used elsewhere in Angus, with others being used for spare parts.
Visiting the play park, Neighbourhood Service Convener Donald Morrison said: "I am delighted with this new-look play park and I'm sure that the young people of Forfar will enjoy many happy hours enjoying the new play equipment.
"Lochside joins other play parks across the county which have been upgraded during the past few years providing safe, imaginative and up-to-date play parks that cater for all ages.
"They give outstanding play value, by using modern equipment that complies with all current safety standards for local people and visitors alike to enjoy."
