The amended proposals from Wind Energy Ltd at Earlshaugh were discussed by Councillors from the Scottish Borders Council.
In 2007, the firm submitted plans for a 36-turbine development, but this was cut back by a third of its size four years later. New proposals were then presented to the local authority for 22 turbines, but a decision was made to oppose the plans.

It is understood the council will advise the Scottish Government – who has the final say on the scheme – that the development is still unacceptable due to the visual impact it would have on the landscape.
However, the company behind the project says it "presents a major opportunity to harness an excellent wind resource in the Scottish Borders".
