At a committee meeting, due to be held next week, Councillors are expected to hear that 236 properties at the Boots Graham Streets development, as well as 264 similar properties at Lawton will benefit from new external wall insulation.
The Council's Housing Committee propose that the tender process to carry out the work on the remaining 1,397 properties, which were first selected in September, commences immediately. This could mean that homes in Kirkton, Arklay Street and the Dryburgh Orlits could also see work carried out this year.

John Alexander, Convener of the Council's Housing Committee, explained: "Hundreds of householders across Dundee have already benefitted from similar schemes to make their homes warmer and more energy efficient and I am pleased we are extending the scheme.
"But after the Chancellor of the Exchequer's autumn statement slashed £3m from the overall project we had planned in the city the Scottish Government, the council and energy companies have been working to plug the funding gap.
"This means that the work we originally intended can still go ahead for tenants and owner occupiers and I am pleased that the first 500 homes will see the benefits to their fuel bills and quality of life after the work is completed later this year."
Properties to fall under the energy efficiency scheme include former council properties sold under the Right to Buy scheme, as well as blocks with a mix of private/council tenants and owner occupiers.
