Schedule Released For Arran Roadworks

Construction News Image
North Ayrshire Council has confirmed that a major programme of roadworks, scheduled for the Arran area, will avoid the busy Easter and summer holidays.

From 17 March to 21 May, the String Road will be closed to allow work to be carried out, but it will reopen over the Easter weekend. The project will also be completed before the summer season commences, the local authority has said. The road will also be opened to traffic three times a day, at 7am – 8am, 12.30pm – 1pm and 7pm – 8pm, to cover travel for workers, schools and businesses and tie in to the ferry timetable.

Diversion routes will be in place, with westbound traffic being diverted via the A841 Brodick, Lamlash, Whiting Bay, C147 Kilmory, Lagg, Sliddery Corriecravie to Blackwaterfoot, B880 Shiskine to Machrie Moor and vice versa for eastbound traffic.
