Lanark Pool Company Strengthens Portfolio

Construction News Image
Lanark Pool Company has added to its portfolio of pool renovation projects following a recent refurbishment at a facility in Newmains, Wishaw.

The firm was responsible for the extensive refurbishment of the hydrotherapy pool at Murdostoun Castle Brain Injuries Rehabilitation Unit.

The existing old pool had not been used for some time as it was in need of both cosmetic and structural upgrading.

Following extensive discussions between Lanark Pool Company and the team at Murdostoun, a detailed design brief was created. The plans included changing the structure of the old pool from a freeboard into a deck-level (overflow) pool and making the whole pool tank shallower. The two major changes would ensure the staff and clients could then use the pool far more effectively and facilitate not only the exercises carried out within it, but the entry and exits to the pool for clients whose mobility may be compromised. Installation of bespoke easy-entry steps and a new state-of-the-art pool hoist was also included in the proposals, while much of the pool plant and equipment was then upgraded or replaced. A complete cosmetic facelift, in the form of re-tiling the pool itself and also the pool hall, was also carried out.
