2014 Home Building Show Announced

Construction News Image
The Scottish Homebuilding & Renovating and Home Improvement Show is back for 2014.

Taking place at the SECC, Glasgow, this year's show will be held on 17 and 18 May.

More than 7,000 self-builders and renovators will be in attendance and there's still time to reserve a stand at the show.

Visitor numbers to last year's show increased by 16% to more than 7,000 and a majority of self-builders are ABC1, with a large disposable income.

Figures from a recent show revealed that:

• 81% of visitors will spend significant budgets with Show exhibitors as a result of their visit

• 75% of visitors are self-builders or major renovators

• 78% already have a project underway or will have within 12 months

• 91% specify their own products and are the decision maker

• 85% do not visit any other show.

The show is Scotland's largest consumer exhibition for self-builders, home renovators and improvers, and is packed to the rafters with more than 140 specialist companies and thousands of products. Advice will also be available through the show's seminars and masterclasses.

Nick Noble, Director of the show, commented: "The Scottish Show is always popular with visitors, with many coming along for two days. Our exhibitors in 2013 reported excellent results and we expect the 2014 show to be just as popular.

"Usually, a self-build project is completed within 10 months of the start date and home renovations are generally completed more quickly. This relatively quick turnaround ensures a fresh audience annually.

"Our knowledge hungry visitors generate a pipeline of business to give exhibitors short, medium and long term returns on investment, whilst maximising selling time.

"Visitors attend the shows to source home building products and learn from the technical experts who produce them. Nowhere in the Scotland will so many people with completed house plans gather in one place."
