Kingdom HA To Complete Homes

Kingdom Housing Association remains on track to complete a number of homes in Kincardine.

The properties are part of an ongoing redevelopment project in the area, which has seen three blocks of high-rise flats demolished. Last month, 10 two- and three-bedroom homes were completed by the housing association and have been allocated for mid-market rent.

A further six one-bedroom homes, available for social rent, are now due to be completed shortly.

In addition, the association is currently in consultation with the local community regarding the final phase of the development project in Kincardine. This would see a further 49 new homes constructed and would meet various tenures including shared equity, mid-market rent and private housing for sale.

Bill Banks, Chief Executive with Kingdom, said: "The original brief for the redevelopment project included various objectives related to community involvement, mixed tenure provision, quality standards and partnership working and we feel the project is delivering on all of these objectives.

"The latest phase is an example of the success being achieved, where the houses have been completed to the Silver Sustainability Standard and incorporate increased insulation levels and photovoltaic panels as part of the finished specification."

Kingdom Housing Association has been working on the redevelopment project since 2007 when Fife Council decided to demolish the high rise blocks of flats. Following the demolition of the flats, provision was made for 65 new social rented homes to meet the needs of tenants who previously lived in the high flats.
