SSE To Host Drop-In Event For Highland Windfarm Project

SSE is preparing to host a drop-in event for local firms to find out more details about a wind farm development in the Highlands.

The exhibition will provide information on possible supply chain opportunities through the construction of the Bhlaraidh wind farm.

The 32 turbine project is due to begin development in spring 2016, with enabling works currently underway.


Billy Jack, Construction Project Manager for Bhlaraidh, said: "The construction of the Bhlaraidh wind farm is expected to bring a number of socio economic benefits to the Great Glen area including opportunities for local businesses and a total community benefit fund of £160,000 per annum."

The 'Open4Business' event is to held on 4 November from 10am – 2pm at the Glenmoriston Millennium Hall, Invermoriston.

Mr Jack added: "We look forward to welcoming local companies of all kinds along to the event."
