A charity in Glasgow is to relocate to new premises following a combined investment between Clyde Gateway and the Church of Scotland.
A total of £820,000 has been granted to allow the Church House charity to move into a purpose-built new Family Support Centre in Bridgeton.
Clyde Gateway is contributing £671,000, while the Church of Scotland is providing a further £150,000.
The new building will be located on the site of the former janitor's home and dining hall at the former Queen Mary Street School which closed in 2009. It will include a multi-use space, a multimedia suite, training kitchen and counselling rooms.
Due to a link to the adjacent Bridgeton, St Francis in the East Church, existing facilities including a drama/music room and games hall will also be accessible.
Demolition work at the former janitor's house started earlier this month, and work is now due to begin on the refurbishment of the dining hall and construction of the new single-storey building, with an anticipated completion date of May 2016.
Ian Manson, Chief Executive of Clyde Gateway, said: "Our financial contribution has come through the Scottish Government's Regeneration Capital Grant Fund and its support will ensure a physical transformation through the partial demolition and partial refurbishment of what had sadly become a derelict eyesore as well as making a very significant and on-going difference to the physical and mental wellbeing of local young people which will ultimately help them along the road to improving their lives through obtaining training and job opportunities that are coming to this area."
