Drop-In Session Held For 'Bears Way' Cycleway Proposals

A public drop-in session has been held on proposals to develop the next phase of a 'pioneering' cycleway in East Dunbartonshire.

Hundreds of residents attended the exhibition at Kessington Pubic Hall, Bearsden on 19 November.

The information and feedback received will now be used to form the design process for future work on the A81 Bears Way cycleway.


The project is to link Milngavie, Bearsden and Glasgow once complete.

The first phase between Burnbrae and Hillfoot has been completed, while engagement and participation work is currently taking place on the next section from Hillfoot to Kessington.

Councillor Alan Moir said: "I would like to thank the many people who came along to the meeting and expressed their opinions - both positive and negative - in a constructive and productive manner."

Consultation on future design options will take place in spring 2016.
