Scottish Water Begins Second Consultancy Project In Canada

Construction News Image
Scottish Water International is underway with its second major assignment contract in Canada.

A five-strong project consultant team will undertake a service review for Calgary's Water Resources business unit.

The project will see the group recommend improvements in the city's efficiency and effectiveness.

Previously, the Dunfermline-based public utility carried out a review of Calgary's water business's operations and maintenance functions.

Rob Spackman, Director, Water Resources with The City of Calgary, said: "We are very pleased to welcome Scottish Water back to Calgary to work with our water, wastewater and stormwater utility for a second consulting engagement."

Nigel Ayton, MD of Scottish Water International, added: "This new assignment in Calgary is welcome recognition of Scottish Water's experience of transforming the delivery of water services in Scotland.

"It demonstrates the continued demand for Scottish Water to export its expertise through services which help international clients raise standards and reduce costs.

"It has been a successful year for us having also won a contract to provide advice and support to Adelaide-based SA Water. This has seen us share knowledge and make recommendations based on our experience of delivering an annual investment programme in Scotland worth around £500 million – experience which will also be relevant in Calgary.

"Elsewhere, we have been continuing our work in Doha as part of a five-year drainage improvement programme, which will enhance the management of drainage systems in Qatar."
