West Lothian Council Moves Services Into Modern Building

West Lothian Council has opened a newly refurbished modern building to host a range of local authority services.

The recently renovated Kirkton Service Centre in Livingston was officially unveiled by council leader John McGinty.

A total of six council services will be based at the centre, including Records Management, Heritage, Archives, Museums, and the Community Inclusion Team and workshop.

In-house contractor Building Services is also now operating out of the facility, including:


• The Contracts Team which undertakes project works associated with the Housing and General Services capital programmes.

• The Repairs Team which carries out responsive repairs and maintenance to both housing and non-housing properties.

• The Customer Services staff who answer calls about housing repairs

Co-locating council teams in modern energy efficient buildings and reducing the number of older buildings used are part of the council's Property Asset Management Strategy.

Council leader John McGinty said: "I was delighted to declare the new Kirkton Service Centre officially open.

"The new Kirkton Service Centre is a vote of confidence in the quality and efficiency of public sector services, as well as an excellent example of how co-locating services can create savings and improve services for customers."
