£45m Healthcare Project Shortlisted At Partnership Awards

A £45 million healthcare project has been shortlisted at the 2016 Partnership Awards.

The Phase 1 redevelopment of Royal Edinburgh Campus is being delivered for NHS Lothian by Hub South East Scotland.

The 10-year project has been named in the awards Best Healthcare Project category, with the awards ceremony taking place later this week.

Work on phase one is being undertaken by Morrison Construction and includes new build facilities to accommodate adult acute mental health inpatient services, the Intensive Psychiatric Care Service, the Robert Fergusson national brain injury unit and older people's mental health assessment and treatment services.

Works are due to be completed by the end of 2016.

In addition, Hub South East has also nominated NHS Lothian for Procurer of the Year.

Paul McGirk, Chief Executive, said: "This project is an example of true public/private partnership working, promoting patient, staff and community benefits through the development of new facilities, whilst contributing to the delivery of strategic aims of our public sector partner in relation to health service provision and wider asset management."

The Partnership Awards will be held on 12 May in London.
