Boeing To Create £100m Moray Aircraft Facility

American airline manufacturer Boeing is to create a new £100 million aircraft facility at an RAF base in Moray.

The project is part of a £365m strategic funding deal between the UK and Boeing, which will see 2,000 new jobs generated as well as an increase in aerospace R&D spending.

The new P-8A operational support and training base at RAF Lossiemouth will create over 100 jobs.


In addition, Boeing has pledged to make the UK its European base for training, maintenance, repair and overhaul across its defence fixed-wing and rotary platforms.

Announcing the new partnership, Prime Minister David Cameron said: "Whatever uncertainties our country faces, I want the message to go out loud and clear: the UK will continue to lead the world in both civil and defence aerospace. We aren’t just open for investment: we are a place the global aerospace industry wants to do business – as Boeing’s long-term partnership with the UK proves."
