Council Opens £2.5m Extension At Livingston Primary School

West Lothian Council has officially opened a new £2.5 million extension at Toronto Primary School in Livingston.

The project was built by CCG (Scotland) in partnership with the council, Collective Architecture, Scott Bennett Associates, EDP Consulting Engineers & Currie & Brown.

Features include a new accessible main entrance for the school and internal access improvements and a safe drop-off area out with the school grounds, as well as re-roofing and insulating the existing classrooms.


The extension also connects and expands the existing inner street which runs through the school, creating a new main office area and re-routing vehicles and pedestrians to the new entrance area.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Councillor Lawrence Fitzpatrick said: "It's fantastic to be invited to officially open the £2.5 million extension at Toronto Primary in Howden.

"The new gym hall and changing rooms will have a huge benefit on the school, encouraging pupils to get active and boost their physical activity."

Calum Murray, Director of CCG (Scotland), added: "The completed works at Toronto Primary have greatly enhanced accessibility as well as offering pupils best in class recreational facilities."
