Campion Homes is continuing work on a £3.3 million residential development in Dunfermline.
A mix of 22 two- and three-bedroom homes are being built at Paton Street on behalf of Kingdom Housing Association. The first phase is scheduled for completion in May.
The scheme is part of a council target to build 2,700 new homes as part of Phase 1 of the Fife Affordable Housing Programme and the Scottish Government's 50,000 new homes programme.
In addition, the Government has provided £1.7m in funding towards the project. Further homes are planned to be built at the site, however capacity constraints related to the local schools is causing planning difficulties.
Bill Banks, Chief Executive with Kingdom, said: "The Paton Street project experienced early delays due to planning difficulties, however progress on site has been excellent since the work started in September last year.
"The new homes are mostly semi-detached or short terrace properties with their own gardens and parking, to reflect what tenants have told us they prefer. They have been designed and built to very high standards and will attain the Silver Sustainability status, due to their air tight construction and high levels of insulation. Not surprisingly, these types of properties are in very high demand from people who require quality social rented housing in the area, which is affordable to run."
Dougie Herd, Construction Director of Campion Homes, added: "Campion have been providing affordable housing projects for Kingdom for many years and we pride ourselves on the quality of the new homes we provide.
"We are investing heavily in both our residential and affordable housing programme and have plans to continue developing for Kingdom and other RSL's and Local Authorities in the future."
