Road users and locals are being invited to view plans to dual a 13-mile stretch of the A9 between Killiecrankie and Glen Garry.

With the draft orders and Environmental Statement having been published, a series of public exhibitions detailing the proposals are being held next month.

The events will take place as follows;

• 1pm – 7pm, Killiecrankie Village Hall on 13 December

• 1pm – 7pm, Blair Atholl Village Hall on 14 December

Draft Orders for further dualling projects will be published over the coming months along with additional public exhibitions.

Cabinet Secretary for the Economy, Jobs and Fair Work, Keith Brown said work to dual the next section of the A9 between Luncarty and Pass of Birnam is expected to start early next year.

"Our ambitious programme to dual the A9 between Perth and Inverness will bring many benefits for road users, communities and businesses who live along or use this important route between central Scotland and the Highlands and Islands," he said.

"The work is continuing across the route and road users are already benefiting from the new dualled stretch between Kincraig and Dalraddy. We expect to get work underway on the next section to be dualled between Luncarty and Pass of Birnam early next year.

"At the same time, design work on the other sections to be dualled is well advanced and today marks a further significant milestone in our plans with draft orders being published for a well-used 13 mile stretch of the road between Killiecrankie and Glen Garry.

"This is just the start as we expect to publish draft orders for further dualling projects over the coming months.

"I would encourage anyone with an interest in the Killiecrankie to Glen Garry project to attend one of the exhibitions on 13 and 14 December or view the draft orders and environmental statement online and give us their views on our proposals."
