Plans Approved To Build 16 New Homes In Grantown-On-Spey

Plans have been approved to build 16 new homes in Grantown-on-Spey.

The scheme, which forms part of the Seafield Avenue/Beachen Court development, was given the go-ahead by the Cairngorms National Park Authority on Friday, 15 December.

The mix of two- and three-bedroom homes are designed for first time buyers and will benefit from the Scottish Government's 'Help to Buy' scheme.

Committee Member Zander McDade had proposed a motion to refuse the application based on issues with regards to design, however this was defeated 13 – 3.

The Seafield Avenue/Beachen Court scheme secured planning permission in 2016 for the development of 43 plots and associated works. A related application for 10 'affordable' homes on a neighbouring plot is currently under construction.

Eleanor Mackintosh, Convener of the Planning Committee, said: "I am happy to see the next phase of this development progressing in a timely fashion and welcome the fact that the application will deliver a wider range of housing for Grantown."
