Banks Property Welcomes Consultation On Homes Development

Construction News Image
Banks Property has held a consultation event on plans for new South Ayrshire homes.

The Hamilton-based developer thanked a South Ayrshire community for their "valuable input and contributions". More than 70 people attended Banks Property's event at Symington Community Hall, on Tuesday 2 October 2018.

The purpose of the event was to consult upon and discuss the firm's initial plans to bring around 120 much needed homes to Symington.

Included in the proposals was the potential to include provision for part of a relief road built to ease traffic through the conservation village's main street, with Banks Property especially keen to get feedback from local people to help it shape its final proposals.

The plans for the 5.6 hectare Stockbridge site – to the north of Symington Road South – would see a range of homes, including the provision of affordable homes.

Jeannie Kielty, community relations manager at Banks Property, said: "On behalf of Banks I'd like to thank everyone who attended the event and provided us with feedback that we will now consider at length.

"Speaking to the communities in which we work is especially important to us.

"Stockbridge and projects like it are essential to keep house prices reasonable and to give a realistic chance for young families to find quality homes, in the areas where they want to live.

"It is also predominantly local people who are affected by development – whether that be during the construction process, or moving into the new homes, so it really does makes sense to have their input represented throughout our plans."

In line with company's development with care approach, Banks Property has committed to working closely with the local community throughout every step of the planning and development process.

The developer now hopes to submit a detailed planning application to South Ayrshire Council in the early months of 2019.
