The urgent repairs will take place on Union Street, west of its junction with Bon Accord Street, to address a partially blocked sewer which has caused flooding within a nearby business premises. The work, which will be completed by Scottish Water's contractor Kier, is anticipated to take around one week to complete, with a further three days of work which will follow in mid-April to complete permanent reinstatement of the road surface.
Due to the requirement for excavation to a depth of between four and five metres below street level in a busy part of the city centre, traffic management measures will be in place next week to ensure the repair can be completed safely.

For around one week from Monday 01 April, there will be temporary traffic lights in place on Union Street to allow traffic to alternate in both directions via a single lane. There will be no right turn permitted from Union Row; and no left turn from Bon Accord Street.
Bus stops on the north side of Union Street will be temporarily suspended, while those on the south side will remain open during the work next week.
Final reinstatement work will then take place from 17-19 April, when similar traffic management arrangements will be in place, but with bus lanes suspended on both sides of Union Street between its junctions with Rose Street and Chapel Street.
Diversions will be clearly signposted and pedestrian access will be maintained during all work.
A Scottish Water spokesperson said: "We would like to apologise to customers and local businesses for any inconvenience caused while this essential work takes place in a very busy part of the city centre. Our team on site will be working to complete a challenging excavation, carry out the work that is needed and minimise disruption as far as possible. We are grateful for customers' patience and understanding while we take care of their sewer network."
