South Ayrshire Council has announced a public exhibition to display the progress being made on the delivery of the new £46.5 million Maybole Community Campus.
Work on the campus is due to begin later this year and the exhibition will be an opportunity for attendees to find out more detail about the project. They will also be able to view drawings and designs for this exciting scheme.
The event will take place on Wednesday 12 February 2020, at Carrick Academy between 4pm-8pm.
The new campus, which is earmarked to open in 2023, will be built on the site of the existing Carrick Academy and will have capacity for up to 1,370 children and young people.
The campus will not only incorporate a new Carrick Academy, there will also be a new St Cuthbert's Primary and a new non-denominational primary school bringing together Cairn Primary and Gardenrose Primary. A new standalone Early Years centre will also be on site.
The new campus will feature inspiring learning environments, as well as top end facilities. The wider community will appreciate sporting amenities such as, the new football and rugby pitches, and a swimming pool which will be timetabled for public and school use.
Councillor Peter Henderson, Resources and Performance Portfolio Holder for South Ayrshire Council said: "We want our children and young people to excel and that means having school facilities which tick all the boxes. This latest exhibition follows other public engagement and it's important that people continue to have their say to ensure the campus delivers for pupils and the wider community."
