Scottish Borders Local Development Plan Enters Consultation

Residents of the Scottish Borders council area have been called to make their voice heard on the proposed new Local Development Plan (LDP).

The proposed plan has entered a 12-week consultation period which runs from 02 November until 25 January 2021. It will replace the Local Development Plan 2016 as the statutory development plan for the Scottish Borders, setting out land use proposals and planning policies intended to guide development and inform planning decisions within the Scottish Borders over the next 10 years.


Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the consultation is taking place predominantly online.

The council has developed an interactive map to allow all proposals within the proposed LDP to be viewed as well as a video to help explain the process further.
