CCG Net Zero Home Nominated For Homes For Scotland Award

Construction News Image
CCG has welcomed the nomination of their Net Zero Home as part of this year's Homes for Scotland Awards.

Vying for the 'Innovation' Award, the Net Zero Home is Scotland's first mass-market building standard and has been designed to support the country's transition to becoming net zero by 2045. Designed in partnership with Carbon Futures and MAST Architects, the Net Zero Home strategy is actively being utilised on a range of 19 'pilot' homes at a major, housing-led regeneration in North Lanarkshire and will also be utilised to create Scotland's largest development of its kind in the form of the 444-home Western Villages in Granton, Edinburgh, in 2022.

This year's awards, taking place in November 2021, have included projects from the 2020 allocation. CCG is delighted to receive continued recognition for Andrew Nisbet Place, a bespoke, 13-unit self-contained housing development that was delivered in partnership with East Ayrshire Council, as well as Greendykes Phase G, a mixed-tenure development located in Craigmillar, Edinburgh. Bell Street Stables, already a multi-award-winner is also announced as a finalist via our long-standing client, The Wheatley Group. The projects are nominated in the Small Development of the Year and Medium Development of the Year categories.

CCG Homes' Riverford Gardens continues to receive recognition having been nominated in the Large Development of the Year category. The 156-home development is the flagship project for the developer having been one of the most sought-after developments released for private sale in Glasgow in recent memory.

The project will be competing alongside Craigmillar Town Centre. The final piece of the City of Edinburgh's vision for the Craigmillar Town Centre Masterplan, the 194-home, mixed-tenure development is a wonderful example of town planning and housing-led regeneration.

Our final project nomination is the Small Development of the Year candidate, Creveul Court. Already recognised as a finalist for the Scottish Home Awards, the 22-home development was delivered on behalf of West Dunbartonshire Council and designed by Anderson Bell Christie. A unique proposition for the local authority, it focuses on amenity for the elderly and has now been utilised as a benchmark for the WDC Dementia Guide which will enable the delivery of more amenity homes across the region to enable greater accessibility for the elderly and those with disabilities.
