Funding Available For Highland Regeneration Projects

Construction News Image
The Highland Council has issued a reminder to communities to not miss out on a funding opportunity as the deadlines to apply for support from the Scottish Government Place Based Investment Programme draw near.

The Programme aims to support capital projects which deliver on ambitions such as town centre revitalisation and community led regeneration, and are shaped by the needs and aspirations of local communities

Last September Members of the Council's Economy and Infrastructure Committee agreed that an area-based approach would be adopted to manage the Scottish Government's Place Based Investment Programme grant for 2021/22 £1,963,000.

The Chair of The Highland Council's Economy and Infrastructure Committee, Cllr Trish Robertson, said: "Seven of the Council's Area Committees have invited applications under the first round of this Place-Based Investment programme. This area-based funding support can really give a boost to local projects geographically spread across the Highlands, so I want to remind community groups and local organisations to make sure they submit their applications in time."

The Round 1 funding application deadlines are as follows:

• Badenoch & Strathspey Area Committee - 2pm on 19 January 2022.

• Black Isle Committee - 2pm on the 19 January 2022.

• City of Inverness Area Committee - 2pm on the 21 January 2022.

• Lochaber Area Committee - 2pm on the 21 January 2022.

• Wester Ross, Strathpeffer & Lochalsh Committee - 2pm on the 21 January 2022.
