CCG (Scotland) has announced that a former council depot in West Lothian is to be redeveloped into new high-quality council housing.
The transformation of the Eagle Brae depot is gathering pace as work construction continues on the delivery of 29 new council homes.
CCG is constructing the dwellings on behalf of West Lothian Council which include a mixture of one-bedroom cottage flats; two, three, four- and five-bedroom houses and two- and three-bedroom bungalows. Work is anticipated to be complete by the end of summer-2022 when council tenants will be able to take advantage of the new homes.
The project is currently one of two that are presently being led by CCG in the local authority area with works also continuing at Dean South in Livingston.
Executive councillor for services for the community, George Paul was recently onsite with officers from the council’s Housing Service to oversee the latest steps being taken as the former depot site is transformed.
Councillor Paul said: "With the old depot surplus to requirements, it is fantastic to see the land being put to good use. Livingston has long been the most in-demand area of West Lothian for social housing. The range of homes being delivered here at Eagle Brae demonstrates the commitment to increasing the availability of affordable homes in the Livingston area. It has been good to be onsite once more to see good work being carried out by contractors and the council."
CCG Managing Director, David Wylie, added: "I am delighted to see that Eagle Brae is progressing well. The project, alongside a further 29 homes that are also being created in Livingston, is bringing much-needed, highly energy-efficient homes to West Lothian and we look forward to welcoming the new residents this summer."
Eagle Brae and Dean South will deliver a combined total of 58 highly-energy efficient homes with both developments utilising the integrated expertise of the CCG Group during their construction programmes including Main Construction services, the offsite manufacture of timber systems, and the fabrication of enhanced PVCu window and door sets. Plumbing services are also complementary to those provided by Group members Arc-Tech (Scotland) and Arc-Tech MU who have provided solar PV and multi-utility installations respectively.
