Pacific Building has been appointed by global airport hospitality providers, Plaza Premium Group, to deliver an all-new executive lounge at Edinburgh.
It will be the first Plaza Premium Lounge in Scotland and it will operate in collaboration with Edinburgh Gin, the award-winning premium spirit distilled in the city.
Edinburgh is the busiest airport in Scotland and the sixth busiest in the UK, serving more than 14 million travellers every year.
The lounge, which covers 670 sq. metres, will cater for 165 passengers and will feature subtle Scottish elements woven into the interior design, from tartan upholstery to carefully selected local artwork referencing key Scottish landmarks and iconic imagery.
Travellers can choose from a variety of zones in the open-to-all lounge, then relax to enjoy views of the runways and the surrounding countryside.
With sustainability in mind, furniture and materials have been sourced from local suppliers to minimise environmental impact and energy-efficient appliances will be utilised.
Hong Kong-based PPG’s Okan Kufeci, Regional General Manager, Europe, Middle East and Africa, said: "We are pleased to offer all these unique features to our travellers at our first Plaza Premium Lounge at Edinburgh Airport.
"Our latest offerings prove that we are constantly improving our products and services to cater to the different market needs while incorporating local touches to the experience.
"We are excited to be able to provide our award-winning, best-in-class signature hospitality in our third location in the UK and to introduce more travellers to the Plaza Premium Group. We look forward to expanding to more locations at major airports in Europe and in the UK in the months to follow."
Gail Taylor, Director of Retail and Property at Edinburgh International Airport, said: "There is an overwhelming desire to reunite with family and friends, take that well-earned holiday or reconnect with clients and we are confident that 2022 will be a key year in travel’s recovery."
The lounge is open daily to all travellers, regardless of airline or class of travel, on payment of a fee either on walking in or via the PPG website.
Plaza Premium Group provide global airport hospitality services and facilities at more than 250 locations in 70-plus international airports across the world.
Their four core business segments are airport lounges, terminal hotels, meet-and-greet services and dining concepts.
They also provide hospitality solutions for Cathay Pacific Airways, Singapore Airlines, China Southern Airlines, Virgin Atlantic, Air France, Star Alliance, SkyTeam, American Express, Capital One and many more.
