Taylor Wimpey West Scotland has committed to future-proofing its workforce with the Young Person's Guarantee scheme.
The Young Person's Guarantee is a joint commitment to provide opportunities for all 16-24 year olds in Scotland through jobs, apprenticeships, further and higher education, training programmes and volunteering.
With the support of our local DYW group/local partner, we plan to promote our management trainee, graduate and apprenticeship vacancies. Through this partnership, we'll also be engaging with local schools to create work experience opportunities and encourage more young people to consider a career in the house building and construction industry.
Taylor Wimpey West Scotland currently has 15 developments of new homes across East Renfrewshire, Renfrewshire, North and South Lanarkshire, Glasgow as well as Ayrshire.
The housebuilder has recently launched a new neighbourhood at Amble Court, Jacktonhall that will form part of the East Kilbride Community Growth Area, as well as a new phase of homes from its Caledonian Collection at the popular Maidenhill development in East Renfrewshire. It also plans to open four more developments this year including over 500 homes at Meadowside in Glenboig.
David Blair, Managing Director for Taylor Wimpey West Scotland said: "We are pleased to announce our commitment to the Young Person's Guarantee. As an organisation, we believe that investing in young people is an investment in a successful long-term future for our company. The Young Person's Guarantee will make it easier for us to connect with young people."
Bob Davidson, Programme Director for Developing the Young Workforce West added: "We are delighted to have Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, a regional business that forms part of one of the largest residential developers in the UK, give their support to the YPG.
"By doing so they are continuing to recognise the importance of developing their young workforce and offering opportunities for young people."
