Whiteburn Projects To Host Lauder Information Events

Construction News Image
Edinburgh-based developers Whiteburn Projects will host the first of two public consultation events on Wednesday 13 July 2022 between 4-7pm at the Lauderdale Hotel, 1 Edinburgh Road in Lauder to update the local community of its plans for a residential development on land accessed from Stow Road in the north of Lauder.

A further event will be held on 10 August 2022.

These events will give the developer the opportunity to share its proposals for the development with members of the public and other interested parties. It will also be an opportunity for the local community to share their views and give feedback as the detailed designs for the development evolve over the coming months.

As part of the overall vision for this development, Whiteburn is preparing to deliver an impressive choice of new homes offering a mix of two, three, four and five bedroom homes for sale, as well as 25% affordable homes to rent. The final mix and scope of the development will be determined following the completion of the public consultation process.

Roger Bainbridge, Director of Design and Delivery for Whiteburn Projects added: "Following the successful completion of our Caerlee Mill development in Innerleithen, we are planning our return to the Scottish Borders. Later this year, we plan to make a detailed planning application for new homes on the land off Stow Road in Lauder.

"As part of our local community engagement process, our first public consultation event will take place on Wednesday 13 July at the Lauderdale Hotel, and this will allow us to update the local community on our plans. It is also an opportunity for us to take the local community's views into consideration as we develop and finalise our proposals for the site.

"It is our aspiration that Allanbank will provide a natural extension to the existing and vibrant community of Lauder, delivering a choice of new homes that will appeal to local people or those who want to enjoy the fantastic quality of life living in the Scottish Borders offers.

"As a member of the Considerate Constructor Scheme, we are fully committed to a programme of engagement with local communities and key stakeholders throughout the lifetime of our developments, and it is important to us that we begin this process as early as possible in the overall project to allow us to understand and consider the views from as many interested parties as we can. The first of our two planned community consultation events allow us to get that process underway."

Whiteburn Project's programme of community engagement will also include discussions with Scottish Borders Council regarding a range of Section 75 community benefits, as well as the two public consultation events planned for 13 July 2022 and 10 August 2022.
