CCG Starts Maintenance Works In Drumchapel

Construction News Image
CCG (Scotland) has commenced work on a new planned maintenance contract in Drumchapel with Cernach Housing Association.

Over 200 properties managed by the association are set to benefit from replacement windows with low maintenance, improved security, and greater thermal performance characteristics among the advantages to tenants upon their installation.

Manufactured by CCG in Cambuslang in partnership with REHAU UK, the material known as PVCu is utilised to create the window profile and frame. It is a form of thermoplastic, a highly-durable composition of recycled materials that are impervious to rot and ensure a vast reduction in deterioration and colour fading when compared to opposing materials over a 40-year lifespan.

CCG will undertake the entirety of the contract from design to installation over two phases with full completion of Phase 1 expected in January 2023 and Phase 2 in the summer.

Paula Baylis, Depute Director of Cernach Housing Association, said:

"We are delighted to be working with CCG (Scotland) to provide new windows for over 200 of our tenants. We understand how important it is for tenants to live in quality homes which provide them with a warm and safe environment and meet energy-efficiency standards. These window upgrades will help our tenants to reduce their energy consumption, lower their fuel bills and feel safer in their homes."

The installation programme is undertaken by CCG's in-house planned maintenance division, Asset Management.

CCG Asset Management Manager, Jim Cunningham, said:

"In the instance of window and door manufacturing, CCG can provide a one-stop-shop for our clients by offering a full design, supply, and fit service. Not only do we have a high-performing product but this chain of responsibility also ensures that both the client and tenant benefit from a streamlined service. Our experience with such contracts will also minimise the impact of works on the day-to-day lives and ensure a quality and efficient installation.

"On behalf of CCG, I extend my thanks to Cernach for bringing us on board and we look forward to working with the association and their tenants throughout 2023."
