IMS Heat Pumps, who have offices in Perth and Sheffield, are one of the UKs leading heat pump experts who have completed over 300 installations in past three years alone. No strangers to challenging heat pumps installations, their winning entry showcased a Grade-II listed barn conversion. Despite initial scepticism about installing a heat pump in a 400-year-old stone cottage, IMS Heat Pumps successfully navigated the challenges posed by the heritage features, including 2'6'' thick walls and an 18-foot-high kitchen apex. The heat pump system designed and installed by IMS Heat Pumps effectively met the heating and hot water requirements of the property.

The Vaillant Heat Pump Challenge was launched in response to the growing popularity of heat pumps in the UK and the need to address the lingering questions and misconceptions surrounding their installation and functionality. The homeowner, taking advantage of the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS), reduced their initial installation costs and reported that the running costs of the heat pump system were comparable to gas. Even during the coldest months, with temperatures plummeting to -7°C, the homeowner expressed satisfaction with the warmth and comfort provided by their home.
