A new housing development in St Ninians has been successfully completed following an investment of £2m by Stirling Council and the Scottish Government.
The new homes, at Monteith Avenue, are a mix of one bedroom flats and two and three bedroom semi-detached houses and add to the existing social housing provision at the King's Meadow development.
King's Meadow is a development of 185 homes by Ogilvie Homes, the family-owned Stirling company established over 60 years ago.
Affordable
The 12 new homes in the latest phase take the number of council houses at King's Meadow to 46, with the latest tenancies already accepted by residents and ready to be occupied.
Stirling Council invested £700,000 to purchase the four one-bedroom flats, four two bedroom semi-detached houses and four three-bedroom semi-detached homes, with the Scottish Government allocating almost £1.3 million through its Affordable Housing Supply Programme.
Cllr Gerry McGarvey, Convener of the Community Wellbeing and Housing Committee, said: "Continued investment in housing is a key priority for Stirling Council. These homes will support the local community in St Ninians and make a significant and lasting difference to the lives of the new residents.
"People deserve to live in warm, comfortable homes in safe communities, and Ogilvie Homes has worked with us to deliver these high-quality, energy-efficient houses that include solar panels and battery storage, as well as the latest fire safety systems.
"Increasing the supply of affordable housing through the new build programme doesn't just address housing need – it also supports the local economy by creating and sustaining jobs in the construction industry."
John McDade, Managing Director, Ogilvie Homes, said: "We are proud to have worked in partnership with Stirling Council to successfully deliver 46 new high-quality affordable homes in our local community.
"Residents will enjoy the benefits of innovative modern living space built to meet their needs and incorporating effective, energy-efficient design."
