Dundee City Council is seeking input on the proposed concepts for a new footbridge over the railway at Magdalen Green, after the council secured Sustrans Places for Everyone funding for the next stages of design for a new structure.
The existing bridge is reaching the end of its life, and the council hopes to replace it with a new development that will be fully accessible for all users, including those walking, wheeling and cycling.
Sustainable transport consultants Stantec carried out engagement work during Summer 2022 to gather views on the replacement.
Now the council has appointed Stantec to carry out further consultation starting this month.
A detailed project webpage(link is external) has been launched and targeted engagement workshops will run during February with a variety of local community groups.
Fair Work, Economic Growth and Infrastructure convener Councillor Rome, said: "This is yet another major step forward in this project and follows on from the original community engagement that was carried out.
"The new concept designs are a stunning look at what could be achieved by this project I would encourage everyone who is interested to get involved in this latest phase of consultation."
The website provides information about the project and responses to many of the questions that were asked during the previous engagement.
It also explains where designs have been altered or additional information has been provided in response to previous engagements and includes an option to ask additional questions.
Hard copies of this information are also available for collection from Blackness Library.
The project team can be contacted at MagdalenGreenFootbridge@stantec.com(link sends e-mail)
A report to councillors in 2023 advised that the project will require further financial commitment from Sustrans/Transport Scotland to take it forward for construction
