Taylor Wimpey Unveils Final Phase Of Newton Farm Masterplan

Taylor Wimpey West Scotland (Taylor WWS) has submitted a detailed planning application to South Lanarkshire Council for a range of new homes in the final phase of their Newton Farm development.

This development will complete the multi-million-pound masterplan vision for this hugely popular location that sits within a South Lanarkshire Council Community Growth Area where construction of new homes in Newton Farm phase 1 started in 2007.

Planning Permission in Principle for Phase 2 of the masterplan was granted in 2014, and

Taylor WWS's latest planning application for the final development of new homes within this phase aims to provide 206 two, three and four bedroom homes.

Located off Harvester Avenue, this part of the development will provide a mix of Taylor Wimpey's current range of house styles. It will also see the introduction of a new range of homes the housebuilder plans to build in Scotland.

The impressive masterplan development includes two new primary schools, a range of affordable homes in line with Taylor Wimpey's Section 75 obligations, local community and sporting facilities, large areas of maintained open space and green corridors, playparks and cycleways, a newly- consented retail area, as well as significant transport infrastructure to support a settlement of this size and upgrades to the River Clyde Walkway.

Martin Findlay, Technical Director for Taylor WWS said: "It's hugely significant that we have made our final detailed planning application to South Lanarkshire Council to complete the Newton Farm masterplan.

"The vision for this development within the South Lanarkshire Community Growth Area was always to create a new place to call home for the community, and this commitment remains the same as we await the outcome of our final detailed planning application for the development.

"This is one of our largest developments in Scotland that, once completed, will provide up to 1,500 new homes, a total investment of over £190m in Section 75, and an impressive range of community benefits."

Audrey Ross, Sales and Marketing Director added: "Newton Farm is a popular development where our customers have grown with us, with many choosing their next property move as we release future phases of homes for sale and their property needs evolve. We expect this trend to continue as we work towards the final development being released for sale later this year.

"When you combine the development's great location, its range of house types, with the delivery of community benefits such as key infrastructure, roads, two new primary schools, footpaths and cycleways - buyers can see that we are building a community at Newton Farm, and they want to be part of it."
